splash time!

Hi everybody, this is Amelie...

My dad likes to tell people that he was a swimmer when he was young... yeah, right. I haven't been even close to a pool yet... Instead, I got to play in this little "pool" that my mom came up with, kind of funny. But it was so much fun! I have to say that I like my water pretty warm, just the way mom sets it up for bath time. I really don't see the point of this "refreshing" water that mom and dad keep talking about.



Today we played some more outside, but the water was too cold, I didn't want to go in. But look at my outfits, cool, no?





Now, guess which one is from Brazil? My grandma gave it to me when I went there for the winter break. But it was so hot that I couldn't try it out at the beach. Next time!

Daycare drop off news!

This morning, Amélie was all happy in the car, tapping her hands on the car seat to the rhythm of the song played on the radio, babbling, and smiling the whole ride... Ah joy...

Then we arrived in the parking lot, and as usual, mom picked her up from her car seat and asked Amélie to say bye to dad... To our surprise, instead of her usual waving goodbye, she blew kisses to her dad!!! Needless to say that both parents were stunned and so proud!

We will try to catch these new accomplishments on movies soon...

Hi, this is Amélie again...

Now this is unfair. How can my mom and dad post this, just when I fell asleep for a second... and catch me snoring like this...

But you know, this is good. It goes to show that I sleep peacefully in the car. My mom and dad keep telling people that I am impossible in the car, that I never sleep. God, I have heard that so many times... Aha, this goes to show that they are not telling the truth! You know me, I am the nicest baby, and I love to sleep in the car, it's so soothing, isn't it?

Sesame Street!

I recently totally fell in love with Sesame Street...

Let me explain, I kind of knew about this, but it wasn't playing on the Swiss or French TV when I was growing up... Instead I happily watched the 'muppet show', the 'babibouchettes' and 'RecreA2'... Ah good times!

So lucky me, I am discovering the Sesame Street treasures with Amélie... Cookie Monster is by far my favorite, Zoe coming as a close second! It took a while for Amélie to get into it, but now every time she hears the 'lalalala lalalala Elmo's World' music, she starts dancing and is all happy!

I can't tell you how happy I am that the 3 of us will enjoy those for years to come!

She can say no!

Amélie aime les tulipes...

Il y a quelques jours, Amélie a eu le plaisir de voir ses premières tulipes, j'ai totalement craqué de la voir jouer avec:

Hi everybody, it's Amélie again...

This weekend I had this amazing adventure, this thing you call biking, so much fun! My mom set up this awesome seat at the front of my dad's bike and we went cruising. We live in a pretty quiet place, so it's less dangerous than biking in Rio :-)

Well, it was fun, but my dad and mom had the idea of me wearing this huge helmet, so I couldn't see very well...



And you know me, I get bored very quickly, so I felt like doing other stuff after a block or two. I found the houses in the second block pretty similar to the ones in the first one... My mom is very inventive (my dad only rides the bike, he's not very handy, mind you), so the second time around my mom concocted this whole system by taping this toy thing that I have that makes tons of sounds. When we go biking with that I can enjoy the ride for a few more blocks! And now I also wear a hat under my helmet and that keeps things more stable (guess what, my mom's idea again...)
