Our chtite rocks

Well, we all could imagine that dermabond on one's chin might not be the most comfortable thing to wear... While some kids might just go with the flow and forget about it, Amélie took matters in her own hands, and ripped her dermabond off her chin on Friday evening...

As the wound looked clean, and that Amélie was on antibiotics for any infections already, I decided that plenty of neosporin and lots of 'no, please don't touch your chin' will have to do in terms of high tech treatment! She was fine with that... And daddy? Well daddy is in upstate New York meditating with Tibetan monks, so as he couldn't drive her to the pediatrician, he could only agree with mom!

To further make life interesting, we had tornado warnings on Friday night... I must admit that I have never been a fan of thunderstorms, but that was a whole new level, the entire house was shaking, incredible! Due to the noise and danger of the windows, Amélie and I spent the night on the futon in our downstairs bathroom. Lucky us, we didn't have any damage, but you might have heard that Indiana has been hard hit by the storm, with towns only 10 miles north of us being really impacted.

Today though, Amélie discovered a new passion at daycare:

Maybe all this music is the reason why we have another thunderstorm warning in effect for the evening tonight... No worries, I have our inflatable mattress in our bathroom ready with soft covers and our flashlight... Just in case we have to play Amélie's new favorite game tonight: sleeping with mommy in the bathroom!

When daddy comes back, I am the one who needs to find a meditation/spa week to recover!

Is it Doctor appreciation week or something?

So far this week, we have been to the doctor's 3 times...

First on Tuesday, when Amélie woke up with the worst pink eye in the history of humanity. Lucky her she spent the rest of the day with daddy at home...

Then today, we went twice...
Once for a cut on the chin that needed stitches but instead got DermaBond, which is like glue for the skin...
The second time today was after she banged her new DermaBond and the wound bled a bit... Fortunately we didn't have to redo the whole kabuki with the DermaBond thing and just had to have some extra steristrips to hold everything together...

Fortunately, as photoshop processing keeps improving, her scar is unlikely to interfer with any eventual plans to pursue a career as a model... But for now, needless to say that our little one looks like this...

More accurately, she looked like this:

Thoughout all of this though, Amélie has been a trooper, minimal crying and giving her paci back 'cuz mimi big girl'... Mommy so proud!
