Chicago: Part 1

That must be the longest interval between posts... We have been quite busy lately, between sinus infections and above all A TRIP! Well, let's say that, since Amélie, each of our travels have been quite exhausting... As a result, I have been very reluctant to try again...

But when Dato said that OHBM would be in Chicago (i.e. 4 hours drive from B-town), my city deprivation syndrome took over, and off we went for a road trip to the Windy City. People, it paid off: We had a fantastic time, and Amélie even decided that staying in her stroller and looking around was fun... People, you can't imagine how grateful I am for the time we had with this semi-tamed toddler in her stroller!

Chicago is phenomenal! We did so many things in 3 days. A colleague from work is a Chicagoan, and he gave us great great tips on what to do. The weather was perfect, and with the wind, not too hot.

We even attempted an upscale restaurant experience (Shula's)... It was a great meal, with the best beef filet I have ever eaten, and a molten cake that reminded me of Chez Pascal, and the Commander's Palace... Divine!

Ah great trip people, great trip... But pictures, now pictures are you demanding? Fine, here are some of them, we will need multiple posts to give you the highlights:

Family picture in Grant Park (we once again resorted to ice-cream bribing - pistachio seems to be to the taste of our little adventurer):

Taking a walk along the Lake Shore (the water was of an amazing Emerald color):

In front of the aquarium (the belugas were really fascinating, and we were quite impressed by the anaconda and the fishes from the Amazon too):

As you can see, all these activities have taken a toll on our little adventurer, but despite our best attempts, a nap in the stroller remains a challenge we will need to work on:

There is hope though, she napped for 30 minutes once in the stroller... YEAH! OK after all these adventures, it's time for mom to catch some zzzzzs!
